Fun Weekend

After 3 weeks of sick kids, they have finally been healthy this last week. Well, Joel & Alyssa have been having a tough time with teething this week, but at least that is not contagious.

On Saturday the 5 of us went to a nearby park to play. Kaitlyn loves to swing and go down the slide! The park also has an area with sprinklers to play in, and we tried to get Kaitlyn to run through the sprinklers, but she just wanted to go on the slide over and over. We had a good time anyway!

 

On Sunday we went to our church picnic and they had a lot of fun events set up. Kaitlyn got to ride her first pony!

 

 

And she got to see some reptiles! She was laughing like crazy at the snake.

 

Kaitlyn also enjoyed jumping in the bouncy house and getting some fun balloons!

 

And then Sunday night she finally talked me into opening her new play dough set that she got for her birthday. Which of course turned into me playing with it and her watching me and telling me what to do.

It was a busy fun weekend!

I am a Loser

Ok, my twins are now a year old. It's time to lose some weight. Here's how it's gone so far...

Week 1

• stopped drinking pop, no eating late at night, and trying to eat lots of vegetables
• started counting calories by logging everything I eat into myfitnesspal.com
• started exercising - 6 days this week!
• joined a weight loss challenge online
• lost 7 pounds!

Week 2

• attended two parties and made good food choices
• got sick - only exercised 1 day
• still eating really carefully
• lost 4 pounds!

I have lost 11 pounds in the last 2 weeks! Week 3 here I come!

Multiple Multiples

Last weekend I got together with some friends who all have multiples. I ended up just taking Alyssa with me, since Joel was still getting over being sick. It was also REALLY fun to go out with just ONE kid! There were 3 other sets of twins there and a set of identical triplets. It was fun watching all the kids play and chatting with the other parents about life with multiples!

 

And yes, that is Alyssa sleeping in the front, haha!

Whose Kitchen is it?

The kids got this play kitchen from their Grandma for their birthday! Here is a video of Kaitlyn right after we opened it.

 

It wasn't long before Joel and Alyssa wanted to play with it too. Kaitlyn would start to scream whenever one of them would try to touch it and would say, "Kaitlyn's kitchen."

 

Several times I told her: "This is Alyssa's kitchen, and Joel's kitchen, and Kaitlyn's kitchen."

 

Now she will say it to me without me prompting her! "Alyssa's kitchen, Joel's kitchen, Kaitlyn's kitchen!"

Learning new things.

It's so fun to watch my kids learn new things!

Kaitlyn got a new puzzle for her birthday, and in the last three days we have probably done it together about 15 times. The first time we put it together, I did the whole thing by myself with her watching. She didn't have a clue how to do it. Each time we did it she did more and more. This last time we did it, she did the entire thing by herself with me watching her! She has learned how to do it so fast, and loves to do the puzzle over and over. She still thinks that she needs my help, but she really doesn't. She can do it now!

Birthday Party!

We celebrated Kaitlyn's 3rd birthday and Joel & Alyssa's 1st birthday.

Sick Little Kiddos

The last few weeks we have had SICK KIDS. No fun! We have had to cancel several play dates and other fun things and are tired of being stuck at home.

It started with runny noses for all of them two weeks ago. Last week Alyssa got really sick with a fever and Kaitlyn was not acting very good. We went to the doctor and Kaitlyn and Alyssa both had ear infections. This week Alyssa still has had a fever, acting really miserable, and up a lot at night. And Joel also came down with a fever. So we went to the doctor again yesterday and Alyssa's ears look worse than they did last week, and both Joel's are infected too. We got a new prescription for Alyssa and one for Joel, so now all 3 kids are on antibiotics.

Hopefully we will be free of fevers and happy again soon so we can enjoy the birthday's coming up!

Grandma

Yesterday I had to run several errands with the kids. As I was turning into our driveway Kaitlyn started screaming. I went to unbuckle her and she said, "Grandma."

I guess she wanted to go to Grandma's house today instead of boring errands. We have been having a lot of fun at Grandma's house lately!
