2nd Trimester!

My 2nd Trimester is here! While I've read several different dates of when the 2nd Trimester exactly begins, it is sometime between the start of Week 13 and Week 14. And today the ticker at the top of my blog moved to the 4th month! So I am deeming myself officially there.

Some of you have been wondering why I haven't written anything on here for the last week and a half. The short answer....my last post said about all I have had to say. I've been so tired of feeling sick!

I wrote several weeks ago that my new favorite food was Cheerios. The last few weeks I have kept a baggie of Cheerios next to my bed or in my purse most all of the time. Paul laughs at me, that whenever we want to go anywhere I have to have a snack first and bring a snack (or two) with me.

I actually haven't been eating the Cheerios quite as much recently. My new favorite food seems to be cheeseburgers from McDonald's. Yum. Now, I have always been able to enjoy a cheeseburger, but now I want those things a lot more. One of the reasons I like them is because after I eat them, for some reason I don't feel sick for most of the rest of the day. I'm not sure if it is the combo of carbs and meat, or just the amount of fat? I don't know, but is seems to work.

Last week I bought a few new-to-me shirts at Value Village. Some that I can wear now, and some that I still need to grow into. I can't remember the last time that I bought items of clothes that were too big for me, but I was hoping to grow into.

I'm so happy for the two women from our Sunday School class that have had babies in the last week! Congratulations Jamie and Jessica! I look forward to meeting their new little ones. And I still can't believe that I will soon be the one in the hospital with the new little one!

Heard Baby's Heartbeat Today!

And it was a beautiful sound!

In the last few days I have made my first two trips to my Doctor's office. I am so happy that a friend from church was able to recommend this Doctor to me, as she is a really nice Christian woman.

Thursday I went in to fill out all my paperwork, meet with the nurse, and give a lot of blood. Then this morning I went in to meet the Doctor and get checked over. I found out that my levels of Vitamin D are a little low, just like most people who live in the Seattle area, as we live without seeing much sun. But other than that, nothing to worry about yet.

The best part of course was hearing Baby's heartbeat for the first time. After warning me that she might not be able to find the heartbeat right away, she found it immediately. It was a strong 174 beats a minute. Then to show me the difference between that and my own heartbeat, she moved over a little to listen to some of my blood vessels. My heartbeat was about 90 beats a minute, almost half of little Baby's. Then she moved back to let me hear Baby's precious heart again.

Of course, after hearing such an amazing thing, I cried off and on for about an hour! It does help me realize just a little more that there really is a tiny person in there, and I am really a mommy.

Babies Babies

On Saturday our Church Sunday School class had a baby shower for Jessica (on the left). In this picture are the three pregnant ladies that came to the shower. We are busy playing a game :)

Then in our Sunday School Class on Sunday we found out that we have another expecting couple among us! I am so happy for John and Sarah! She is due just one week before me.

A Miracle

"For You created my inmost being;
You knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from You
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
Your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in Your Book
before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!"

Valentine's Day?

I had a suprize last night! Paul came home and said "Happy Valentine's Day" and gave me some candy- and it's the beginning of January! Now, Paul is not a big fan of being required to get gifts for people on set days, when he knows they will be expecting them. He would much rather surprize me. So, that's why yesterday was Valentine's Day.

The last few days I have been watching the last season of the Biggest Loser online. Now, can you guess why this may not be a good idea for emotional pregnant me? Yes, I cry all the time! It's such an emotional show. :)

New Website

My new favorite website is cafemom.com. I can spend hours on it everyday. It is a forum for pregnant women and mommies, where you can post your questions, fears, joys or whatever, and have other moms encourage, support, and give advice.

It has been fun to read about the experiences of other pregnant women, the things they are excited about and worried about, and also reading all the questions and answers that women are asking and receiving. I'm learning a lot!

Happy New Year!

I spent New Year's Eve at a party with some couples from our Church Sunday School class. We discovered that in 2009, 8 couples in our class had babies! That is a lot of babies! So far we have 4 babies expected in 2010, but I'm sure that number will continue to grow.
